TYLER CARUSO

I went to college to refine my video production and post-production skills and create relationships and connections with people both in and outside the industry. In College, I began my position at the Pulse Media Hub as their A/V Assistant and moved up to the A/V Manager role soon after. I gained significant experience in press and event photography as well as photo editing there. I also completed an internship with the Public Humanities Fellows at Messiah University. Through this, I collaborated with the Dauphin County Library system to tell the story of influential African Americans in Harrisburg via video. During that summer, I was a digital marketing intern for Lifestyled Media (video marketing agency) in which I learned a lot about owning a business, running social media accounts, and creating digital marketing content. The following Spring, I interned at Peace Promise to help create content for the promotion of their new coffee shop, which employs survivors of human trafficking. That Spring, I graduated from Messiah University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Film & Media Arts. After graduation, I took a position at Dickinson College as a full-time Content Creator. After bolstering my skills and portfolio further, I now work at Gettysburg College as their Assistant Director of Visual Content. Currently, I am also freelancing and can be booked here. I do photography and videography of events, weddings, and portraits.

I have always been interested in content creation and the visual arts ever since I was a child. When I was in elementary school and middle school, I taught myself how to create stop motion videos using Legos. Through this hobby, I learned the basics of set-building, script-writing, lighting, sound design, cinematography, and post-production on a small scale. After creating stop-motion shorts for a few years, I took all the classes offered at my high school and middle school related to film, media, and photography. I loved every single one and knew this was what I was called to do.
